SOLAR CONTROL GLASS

Natural light is an extremely important and changing feature in buildings, stimulating the senses and creating a sense of space and lighting up/education. The bad thing/disadvantage is that with natural sunlight comes heat, which can be very hard to manage especially in the summer, resulting in an unpleasant and often, sticky situation. Colored Glass has usually gave/given the solution in heat reduction but can block out too much light, especially on a dull day..

Solar Control Glass is designed to reduce heat transmission through the glass without reducing or interfering with on light transmission. In simple terms, it allows more light in than a colored glass but provides a something that blocks or stops something to the heat created by the solar energy. There are some different grades of coating for Solar Control Glass, so you can select the performance to meet your needs. Once coated the glass is then built into a unit to secure/make sure of the long life of the coating.

Solar Control Glass is available in different grades which are defined by a ‘G Value’. For example, a glass with a G Value of 35 means that only 35% of solar energy will be transmitted through the glass. A Solar Control Glass with a detailed description of exactly what is required of 70/35 would allow 70% of light transmission and 35% of heat transmission into the building.

With unpredictable weather and increasing energy costs, Solar Control Glass offers a significant solution to managing the health of the Earth/the surrounding conditions both on the inside and on the outside of your building.

ACOUSTIC GLASS

Light and heat are not the only factors when thinking about/when one thinks about glazing applications. Sound is equally important, especially in areas of high noise pollution. Sound-related Glass is built by gluing or joining together/friendship forming two panels of glass with a special sound-related interlayer acting as the noise filter. The flexibility of this process means glass panels can be both Toughened or Float Glass depending on the particular needed things of the project.

As with all performance glass, light transmission and impact performance remain important and Acoustic Glass will compromise neither.

nandtuff can supply Sound-related Glass up to a biggest possible size of 5000mm x 2200mm. The glass panels can be float or toughened as needed/demanded, and the Sound-related Glass can also be processed or glazed in house if needed/demanded.

We also carry stock sheets of Sound-related Glass, made with Float Glass, for those moments when glass is needed/demanded very badly or for projects with a short lead time
